A mobile application providing information on the rights of Greeks and on foreign travelers in Greece in both Greek and English was presented by the Union for Working Consumers of Greece (EEKA) in Athens on Tuesday.
“Traveler Rights GR” is also available in a format for persons with disabilities and information can be stored offline.
In its presentation, EEKA said that there is no similar app in Europe and the aim is to help travellers and local residents understand their consumer rights under local laws.
Some of the information provided relates to air and boat travel (flight delay or cancellation), quality of consumer goods, short-term housing booking, hotel responsibilities, transportation by taxi or bus, illegal restaurant service or cover charges and smoking issues, and parking lot issues.
The app also provides information on getting a European Health Insurance Card, on mobile roaming charges, travel documents, and on tour guide services. Telephone numbers for useful and emergency phones are also accessible.
