of\u00a0<strong>Preventia<\/strong>, a\u00a0<strong>EU4Health-funded project that was granted in 2023 and started in January 2024.<\/strong><\/p><p>Together with a consortium of members and partners from across Europe, including the Croatian\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ceip.hr\/\">Consumer Education and Information Center (Ceip)<\/a>, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lvoa.lt\/\">Lithuanian Consumer Institute,<\/a>\u00a0the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/eeke.gr\/en\/\">Union for Working Consumers of Greece, \u2013 EEKE,<\/a>\u00a0the Italian\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.udicon.org\/\">Consumers Defense Union (U.Di.Con)<\/a>, the Italian social promotion association\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.amiciobesi.it\/\">Amici Obesi<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.promoteukraine.org\/\">Promote Ukraine<\/a>, SAFE developed a three-year duration project called \u201c<strong>NCDs prevention and health promotion through training, networking and awareness-raising across the EU \u2013 EUPr3ventNCDs<\/strong>\u201c, or Preventia, with the overarching aims to:<\/p><ul><li><strong>Reduce health inequalities<\/strong>\u00a0across the EU;<\/li><li><strong>Decrease the spreading of NCDs<\/strong>\u00a0across the EU,<\/li><li>Foster\u00a0<strong>cooperation and exchanges<\/strong>\u00a0between the EU Member States.<\/li><\/ul><p>Through a set of relevant Work Packages and tasks, the project will unfold according to\u00a0<strong>three main dimensions<\/strong>:<\/p><ul><li>Capacity-building and training<\/li><li>Networking and cooperation<\/li><li>Campaigning and awareness-raising<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>The project\u2019s specific objectives are to:<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>Enhance the cooperation and peer-learning of civil society across the EU in the fight against NCDs, with a special emphasis on stakeholders from Ukraine<\/li><li>Encourage the exchanges and best practices and mobility opportunities of health and nutrition workforce across the EU<\/li><li>Improve health literacy of younger generations on NCDs prevention through training on healthy eating habits and childhood obesity<\/li><li>Reduce health inequalities across the EU (and beyond) through inclusive activities for vulnerable groups<\/li><li>Raise awareness of citizens at large through participatory and interactive campaigns<\/li><li>Empower consumers to make better informed and more nutritious food choices through innovative digital tools<\/li><li>Analyse and assess national policies related to NCDs prevention<\/li><li>Advocate for new EU policy approaches based on the Member States\u2019 needs<\/li><li>Widely and effectively communicate about the project and give visibility to its activities<\/li><li>Promote and disseminate the project deliverables among targeted audience across the EU.<\/li><\/ul><h3>The kick-off meeting in Brussels<\/h3><p>On 15 February, Preventia held its kick-off meeting in Brussels, which saw the participation of the project partners, as well as\u00a0<strong>Stefan Craenen from DG SANTE<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>H\u00fclya Okuyan from HaDEA<\/strong>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-7b45a40 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"7b45a40\"
