The primary goal of the training to be implemented by the Union of Working Consumers of Greece is to strengthen health education through healthy nutrition, emphasizing the reduction of sugar consumption and acquiring knowledge about food labels and food packaging.
The schools where the training programs will be implemented are:
- Elementary School of Intercultural Education of Alsoupoli
- 21st Elementary School of Athens “Lela Karagianni”
- Intercultural High School of Athens
- 23rd Elementary School of Athens
- 27th General Lyceum of Athens
The training programs are implemented as part of the Preventia project, aimed at preventing Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) and reducing health inequalities across the EU through inclusive activities for vulnerable groups.
NCDs, also known as chronic diseases, are illnesses that are not passed from one person to another, such as cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, cancers, and chronic respiratory diseases. NCDs may arise from unhealthy lifestyles, such as tobacco use, lack of physical activity, unhealthy diets, and alcohol use, leading to metabolic and physiological changes.
The Preventia project is implemented with partners SAFE, LCI, EEKE, CEIP, Promote Ukraine, Amici Obesi, and U.DI.CON., and is co-funded by the EU.
Stay tuned for our upcoming activities here.
